A suspect has been named following a tram crash which called a three-year-old girl in Manchester. Greater Manchester Police have named the driver of a van that collided with a Metrolink tram on Saturday 22nd February which caused the death of Louisa Palmisano.

A 35-year-old man is charged with causing death by dangerous driving and will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court later on Wednesday.

The girl, who died following the the incident involving a tram and a van, was named as Louisa 'Lulu' Palmisano, from Burnley. In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said Rawal Rehman, 35, from Manchester, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

The child was a pedestrian and was not travelling in either the tram or van during the collision on Mosley Street
