Edu, a midfielder with the club’s 2003-04 ‘Invincibles’ team, was appointed as Arsenal’s first-ever technical director in the summer of 2019. He went on to hire Mikel Arteta as head coach later that year before the Spaniard’s role became manager in September 2020.
