"I can't believe myself how I came out of it alive, because for a while I thought I was going to die as well," Ramesh told Indian national broadcaster DD News.

The plane was bound for London Gatwick Airport and was carrying 169 Indians, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese and one Canadian, Air India said.
