Rory McIlroy brought his U.S. Open at Oakmont to a close on Sunday, and the Northern Irishman discussed balancing his life on and off the golf course as one of the world's best

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, Nos. 1 and 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking, respectively, will be competing in the Travelers Championship. Scheffler is the defending champion, having defeated Tom Kim in a playoff following a climate protest during the final hole of regulation.

McIlroy shot a 3-under 67 on Sunday, finishing the U.S. Open at 7 over and giving himself a performance he can build off as he works toward the year’s final major — next month’s British Open at Royal Portrush in his home country of Northern Ireland.

McIlroy had avoided the media after each of his four rounds at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, where it was reported that his driver had failed regular testing before the tournament. After giving his pre-tournament press conference,
